I would like to welcome you to the Berkshire Gardens Trust web-site. We were founded in 2008 and are a member of the Association of Garden Trusts. We are proud of the rich heritage of historic parks and gardens, which we have here in the Royal County of Berkshire, and aim to identify, protect and promote this valuable heritage. As you explore our web-site, I hope you will enjoy reading about our many activities and interests.

The Trust runs an annual programme of garden visits, talks, seminars and lectures. Details of our recent activities and forthcoming events will be found on this website. We have also initiated projects in which members can participate, such as cataloguing the important gardens and parks in the County, guidance is given for this important work.

We have also been involved in a practical way in restoring and conserving important public gardens. Our work on the Hungerford Memorial Garden was completed in 2012. Currently we are working on the rebuilding of the garden at Watlington House, a William and Mary House in the centre of Reading, which we hope will be opened to the public when it is completed.

There is much going on and plenty to do. I do hope that as you navigate around this site you will feel able to help and to join as a member of Berkshire Gardens Trust.
