Early Summer Visit – Rooksnest Estate, Lambourn Woodlands, Tuesday 26 June 2018

Rooksnest Rose Garden
Rooksnest Rose GardenWe are pleased to offer a great opportunity to join Berkshire Gardens Trust for a guided tour by the head gardener around Rooksnest, Lambourn Woodlands, West Berkshire, with gardens mostly designed by Arabella Lennox-Boyd. Rooksnest is a working garden and there will be occasions when work is in progress and machinery running. It is also a family home and so the Estate tries to ensure the family can enjoy their garden in privacy.
We will meet in the car park opposite the Estate entrance at 1.45 for a 2pm start. Sensible shoes are recommended for the mown lawn and hidden paths and any woodland detours. Rooksnest will give us an introductory talk and provide attendees with a free information sheet.
We will follow the tour with tea at Rooksnest which is included in the cost. Refreshments will be provided by a charity that raises funds for a local primary school. These are served in an open barn, which is under cover but still open on one side. When booking, please indicate if you have any dietary restrictions.
The cost of entrance to the Estate, the guided tour and tea is £12.00 per person for BGT members; £15.00 per person for non-members and £24 for a member with a guest.
