Welcome to the website of Berkshire Gardens Trust
NewsIn March, Ben Viljoen inaugurated Berkshire's celebration of the tercentenary of the birth of Lancelot Brown by giving the Berkshire Gardens Trust Easter Lecture, entitled Brown in Berkshire, in the Purley on Thames manorial barn. The event was well attended. This was followed by an exhibition on Brown in the gazebo at Caversham Court where, with the help of the Friends of Caversham Court directing visitors to the gazebo, people were at times queuing to see the displays. Most of the pictures in the gallery above are from Sunday 17th of April, which was the first of the ticketed days at Caversham Park where there was an introductory talk on Brown and the history of the gardens, followed by tours of the house and grounds.
News ContinuedOur logo for the Berkshire Gardens Trust is the Summer Snowflake or Leucojum aestivum. Known locally as the Loddon lily, it can be found in private gardens and also growing wild along the banks of the River Loddon.
